Kucharczyk ends season in style as Nikita Johnson claims Indy NXT title to become the youngest ever champion

Tymek Kucharczyk took an impressive victory in the season finale at Laguna Seca as Nikita Johnson takes second to become the youngest Indy NXT Champion in history.

Johnson took second behind a pacey Kucharczyk to take the double, as the American took both the Dallara Rookie of The Year and Drivers’ championship trophies.

The 2026 champion clinched the title and in doing so became the youngest ever winner of Indy NXT, surpassing A.J. Foyt IV by eight days, at 18-years-old and 12 days.

It was Kucharczyk though, who took victory, one day after his chances of victory were ruined due to being tagged around by Myles Rowe.

The Polish driver had the measure over Johnson, as the duo who were fighting for the title throughout the season, joined each other on the podium for one final time in 2026.

Lochie Hughes, after a difficult season, ended on a high as he joined the rookie duo on the final podium of the year.
